Skintel Melanin Reader
The Skintel Melanin Reader further enhances treatment success and safety by quantitatively and objectively determining the melanin density of the skin in the treatment area.
When used with the Vectus® laser and the Cynosure (Palomar) Icon aesthetic system, the Skintel melanin meter generates the optimal and recommended treatment parameters, depending on the client’s individually measured melanin index value. Transmission occurs via Bluetooth directly to the laser system used.
To date, aesthetic treatment practitioners have had to rely on more subjective means of determining a client’s skin type, including the traditional Fitzpatrick skin type assessment, skin type checks, and consideration of recent sun exposure.
